Install a Discord bot on an ARK ASA dedicated server (RCON)
You host your ARK: Survival Ascended server yourself (dedicated server, VPS, home PC) or with a host other than Nitrado? Our free Discord bot works the same way: all it needs is the RCON of each map.
1. Enable RCON
In GameUserSettings.ini, [ServerSettings] section:
RCONEnabled=True
RCONPort=27020
ServerAdminPassword=YourPasswordOr on the launch line: ?RCONEnabled=True?RCONPort=27020?ServerAdminPassword=YourPassword. With a host, look for the “RCON” option in the panel and note the port shown. Restart the map.
2. One port per map
Each map of a cluster has its own RCON port (27020, 27021, 27022…). Two maps can’t share the same port.
3. Open the port
The bot connects over the Internet: allow each map’s RCON port over TCP in your firewall (and forward it on your router if the server runs at home).
4. Use the public IP address
A local address (127.0.0.1, 192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x) is refused: enter the machine’s public IP (shown for example on ifconfig.me).
5. Connect the bot
- Create a free account and add your server.
- “Discord bot” tab: click “Invite the bot” and choose your Discord.
- “Maps” tab: for each map, name, public IP, RCON port, admin password, then “Test”. The number of online players appears if everything is right.
- Choose your vote rewards, publish the welcome message (Link and Vote buttons), and enable whatever you like: cross chat, map status, shop.
No response?
- Check that the map is running and that the port is the RCON port (not the game port).
- Check the admin password (case-sensitive).
- Test the firewall: the port must accept TCP connections from outside.
