Why ask your players to Link?

Choose how you reward your players:

Without our bot there is no “Link” button on your Discord: that’s normal. Your plugin or bot recognises the player from the name typed when voting.

The simplest

Simplest: always the same name

Ask your players to always vote with the same name, the one your plugin or bot expects. A different name = a vote your system can’t find.

More reliable

Going further: the EOS ID

If your plugin or bot can claim a vote by EOS ID, the name no longer matters:

1
The player creates a free account on the site.
2
In “My account”, they link their ARK character (their EOS ID).
3
They vote while logged in: the vote comes with their EOS ID, your plugin claims it by EOS ID.

For the developer: eos_id field in votes and the webhook, claim-eos and check-eos endpoints; a plugin can also confirm links (POST /v1/players/link). Everything is in the API documentation.

Want the “Link” button on your Discord?

Our free Discord bot can run alongside your API: it adds the Link without changing your system.

Which name should I use?

ℹ️ By default, the only name the server sees (through RCON, in the list of connected players) is the platform name: Steam, Epic, PlayStation or Xbox.

👉 Here it all depends on the server’s plugin or bot. Some plugins already link each player to their character: the character name then works too. Tell your players, on your Discord, which name to type on the vote page.

Name	Example	What it’s for
💬 Discord name	~~LunaSky~~	❌ Not for voting Only on Discord (mentions, private messages).
🎮 Platform name	DodoRider	✅ By default Steam, Epic, PlayStation or Xbox: the only name the server sees. That’s the one to type on the vote page.
🦖 Character name	Bernard	⚠️ Depends on the server Only works if the server’s plugin or bot has already linked the player to their character.

🔒 Players’ EOS IDs are never shown publicly.
